What makes Treehouse classrooms different?
The Learning Treehouse provides a rich environment with lesson plans correlating with the Georgia Early Learning Development Standards (GELDS). We have a flexible daily routine allowing children to advance and learn at their individual pace. We strongly believe learning happens through play. Learning and exploring activities are specifically designed to be hands-on and are facilitated through interest areas in the classroom.
Each of our classrooms (including infant rooms) feature learning areas of interest such as:
Science
Reading
Block Play
Math
Sensory
Fine Motor
Music
Dramatic Play
Art
Each of these learning areas have specifically selected materials for learning and exploration. Teachers add changes to the environment to reflect learning themes and interests of the children.
Our program is designed to enhance children’s development in the following areas:
Creativity
Self Expression
Decision Making
Problem-Solving
Responsibility
Independence
Reasoning
The Treehouse encourages openness to that which is different from us, and the ability to work and play with others. We also have structured learning time that is developmentally appropriate for each age group .
Our students’ day and classroom routine would include large and small group learning, as well as, one on one instruction. We believe a balance between play based and academic based learning is essential in preparing for a life long love of learning.
Our school wide weekly learning themes allow us to incorporate special activities for all ages and classrooms. The Treehouse will even enlist the help of our kitchen staff to incorporate the theme to support learning in the classroom!
